Benefits of joining GMA as a Researcher:

Eligibility to submit research proposals for research endorsement via our Endorsement Program. Endorsement by a CTN indicates the proposal has undergone peer review by GMA’s Core Research Support leaders and Lived Experience Network to ensure that it reflects GMA’s vision, best practice research methods, and the priorities of the key stakeholders in the field.
Access to GMA’s Lived Experience Research Network, GMA-LERN. GMA-LERN was created to facilitate the inclusion of those with a lived or living experience of poorer childhood mental health and wellbeing (or the loved ones who support them) and can provide members with support to incorporate best-practice methods related to lived experience into applications for research funding.
Access to GMA’s Core Research Support which includes resources, information and training on best practice research methods related to research knowledge translation and impact, health economics and statistics relevant to the conduct of trials in child and youth mental health, as well as measures that usually bring a cost (i.e., Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire). GMA’s Core Research Support also includes panels of experts whose input enhances the quality and success of funding applications submitted for review via our GMA Endorsement program.
Access to a searchable directory of like-minded researchers to provide opportunities to build research collaborations (including interdisciplinary collaborations) with a network of experts in child and youth mental health across Australia.
Access to the GMA Trials Directory - a comprehensive listing of current child and youth mental health trials in Australia. This includes the opportunity to list your study on the Trials Directory to facilitate study recruitment.
Opportunities to influence child and youth mental health research Australia-wide, through activities including co-design and research prioritisation.
Network-wide support for the timely completion of GMA-endorsed research and the rapid translation of research findings into systems and services. Such support includes the promotion of opportunities for collaborative participant recruitment and access to new developments and innovations in research and practice at the national level.
In addition to the benefits already listed above, EMCRs can join the GMA EMCR Network. This network provides members with access to EMCR-focused events and opportunities related to child and youth mental health (e.g., webinars, training workshops, and mentoring).
